Welcome to the Port Augusta RSL - Home of the Leopard Tank

Port Augusta RSL Sub-Branch and its Members welcomes you all to come visit us and enjoy some good old Aussie hospitality, with the coldest Beer in the state, food, amenities all around. Also come view our Award winning Military Museum for Remembering all our Diggers Service & the Heritage that they have left us, and our newly arrived Leopard Tank. Port Augusta is a major town 300 kilometres north of Adelaide on Highway One at the head of the Spencer Gulf. Gateway to the Eyre Peninsula, the Flinders Ranges and the Outback. It is also an important Defence centre with the nearby El Alamein Base and Cultana Training Area.

Our Sub-Branch was formed after the First World War when Sergeant James Raymond Badcock and a few Diggers got together and purchased the Old Customs House. They had a very strong club for many years with a very strong membership, but due to declining Membership numbers in the mid 80’s and the new Woolworths facility being erected adjacent to the building, the Club closed its doors and purchased the new clubrooms in Fulham Road in 1986, where we are still situated today.

So when you’re next through Port Augusta visiting the Famous Flinders Ranges or many of our other excellent landmarks, come along and enjoy the pleasant atmosphere at our clubrooms and friendliness of our Members and supporters. Relax with an ice cold refreshment then wander through our unique Museum. We have items from every Theatre of War, from the New Zealand (Maori War) War in 1860 to the Iraqi & Afghanistan Conflict at present. This display is atributed to our brave Diggers.

Their Service is our Heritage!

We hope to see you when you visit our Clubrooms!
